• 5 envelopes of Knox gelatin
  • 1/2 cup of cold water
  • Seven cups of milk
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 pt. heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 t of vanilla
  • Soak gelatin in water for 5 minutes
  • Dissolve gelatin with half of the milk which has been scalded.
  • Add sugar.
  • Add remaining milk and stir until it starts to thicken slightly.
  • Fold in the whipped cream (not too stiff) and add vanilla.. Have a large mold ready, making sure that it is wet and cold.
  • Refrigerate
  • Unmold and serve with sliced strawberries.
  • You can prepare half of the amount for a smaller mold.
