• 1 can of sour pitted cherries
  • 1 stick + 2T butter
  • 1 pkg. Nestlé’s bittersweet chocolate bits (12 oz.)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 3/4-cup sugar, pinch of salt
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 1/2 t baking powder
  • Drain cherries and set aside
  • Melt butter and add chocolate chips and melt. Allow cooling.
  • Mix in bowl 4 eggs, 1 t vanilla, and 3/4 cup of sugar, pinch of salt.
  • Add to bowl the chocolate-butter mixture
  • Add 1 cup of flour and 1 1/2 t baking powder and mix. (I sift flour)
  • Stir in the drained cherries.
  • Pour into buttered spring form.
  • Bake 45-50 minutes at 375 degrees
  • Test with toothpick.
  • Serve with whipped cream.
